RCMA Makeup to Receive Vanguard Award At
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards

The 12th Annual MUAHS Awards will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) will present the prestigious Vanguard Award to the Research Council of Makeup Artists (RCMA Makeup) at the 12th Annual MUAHS Awards, presented by L’Oréal Groupe and Giovanni Eco Chic Beauty. The award will be bestowed at the gala event on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel.

The Vanguard Award is presented to an individual or organization, who has made significant contributions to the make-up and hair styling industry and has left a lasting impact on the craft.

“This year we are honoring the legacy of the RCMA, a pillar in the make-up and hair styling community for over sixty years. Their products have been used by many of our members, enhancing the creative designs of iconic characters in film, television and theater. We look forward to celebrating this esteemed brand and extraordinary family and their contributions to the entertainment industry,” said Julie Socash, MUAHS president, IATSE Local 706.

“We are profoundly honored to accept this award on behalf of our grandfather, Vincent J.R. Kehoe, the visionary founder of The Research Council of Makeup Artists. This recognition would have meant the world to him, as it reflects the values which he dedicated his life to—elevating the artistry and education of the makeup industry while providing innovative products through RCMA,” said JR and Christian Kehoe, co-owners of the Research Council of Makeup Artists.

“For 62 years, RCMA has been a steadfast presence in makeup kits around the world, and we are humbled to continue his legacy of excellence and passion. This moment is a tribute not just to Vincent’s pioneering spirit but to all the makeup artists—past, present, and future—who inspire and drive our commitment to this craft,” they added.

In light of the recent devastating Los Angeles wildfires that have affected many Union members, Local 706 will raise funds at the 12th Annual MUAHS Awards to support the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Walsh Di Tolla Spivak Foundation. This foundation provides vital direct financial assistance to all IATSE Union members who been affected by natural disasters, including the Los Angeles wildfire victims. For more information about the Walsh Di Tolla Spivak Foundation, please visit: https://iatse.net/socal-fires/To make a donation, please click HERE.

The Vanguard Award will be bestowed upon RCMA Makeup. The Distinguished Artisan honoree will be announced shortly.
