Diana Nyad, the celebrated long-distance swimmer and subject of “Nyad,” presented the Distinguished Artisan Award to legendary actress Annette Bening, whose most recent Academy Award nomination is for her starring role in “Nyad.” As a Tony Award and five-time Academy Award nominee, and two-time Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award winner, Bening was feted for her consistent collaboration with Local 706 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists and has richly enhanced and created memorable characters throughout her career. Unfortunately, Bening came down with COVID and Diane Nyad accepted the award on her behalf.
